The reader in js/fp5.js is a JavaScript port of the reading code in fmptools (version 0.2.3) by Evan Miller. The full notice is also at the top of that file and in LICENSE-fmptools.txt.

The sample file
The sample, BD.fp5, is the Big Delta quadrangle of the Alaska Resource Data File, published by the U.S. Geological Survey as Open-File Report 99-354 and updated in July 2008. Work by the U.S. Geological Survey is in the public domain. The copy here is unchanged from the one the Survey's ARDF site offered.
